2020 MAKING STRIDEZ GRANT RECIPIENTS

The AfterShokz Making Stridez Grant was designed to support high school and AAU coaches/programs in the running space. One winner will receive a $3,000 grant and a team prize pack from partnered brands. All finalists will receive the team prize pack from partnered brands.

Special thanks to all participating brands:

GRAND PRIZE RECIPIENT:

NORTE VISTA CROSS COUNTRY

Norte Vista Cross Country struggled to find a consistent coach and fundraising for years until Rafael Perez became their coach. Under his leadership, they have worked together to improve consistency, work ethic, and professionalism. They’ve even made reading about the sport a priority for the whole team. We at AfterShokz believe that Norte Vista deserves the grant due to the unparalleled joy that running brings them, as well as their significant community and academic achievements as a team. Norte Vista plans to use the money to finally provide matching uniforms and an EZ-Up for their runners to foster even more of a sense of unity. We at AfterShokz are so excited to present this award to the Norte Vista Team. Congratulations!

FINALIST RECIPIENT:

TENNESSEE SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND

The Tennessee School for the Blind was chosen as a finalist because they provide many students with disabilities the opportunity to participate in physical sports and activities. This is important as those with visual impairments can become much less active as they would be otherwise. Being a part of the track and field team provides these students with skills and healthy habits they will use for a lifetime. The students are separated into different classes for their different visual functioning abilities, which ensures they compete against students with similar visual abilities. This strongly aligns with our values here at AfterShokz, as we believe everybody deserves a chance to explore their passion safely and fairly while having fun. They will use the gear to further extend their teams gear and equipment store, as the student athletes participate in track and field at no cost. Congratulations from our team here at AfterShokz!

Open to U.S. residents only (see Official Rules for details). Entry must be completed before
11:59 p.m. ET on 6/22/2020 to be eligible.
